- Follow low tyramine diet and avoid Sympathomimetics, Serotonergic Medications
- MAO Inhibitors are not first-line agents for Mood Disorders
III. Indications
- Refractory Major Depression
IV. Dosing: Major Depression
- Start: 10 mg orally three times daily
- Titrate by 10 mg/day increases every 1 to 3 weeks as needed and as tolerated
- Maximum: 60 mg per day (30 mg orally twice daily)

- Tranylcypromine is a non-hydrazine MAO Inhibitor which irreversibly blocks MAO nonselectively (MAO-A and MAO-B are both affected)
