III. Dosing: Schizophrenia

  1. Adult IM or Oral Immediate Formulation
    1. Start 2.5 mg IM or orally twice daily
    2. Titrate to 10 mg/day IM or 20 mg/day orally divided every 6 to 8 hours
    3. Maximum Dose: 40 mg
  2. Depot IM/SC Long Acting Formulation (Fluphenazine enanthate, Fluphenazine decanoate)
    1. Stabilize on oral dose before initiating depot dose
    2. Start 12.5 to 25 mg IM or SQ every 4 to 6 weeks (equivalent to 10 to 20 mg/day of oral dose)
