- Phenothiazine
- Potent Dopamine D2 Receptor Antagonist
III. Dosing: Schizophrenia
- Adult IM or Oral Immediate Formulation
- Start 2.5 mg IM or orally twice daily
- Titrate to 10 mg/day IM or 20 mg/day orally divided every 6 to 8 hours
- Maximum Dose: 40 mg
- Depot IM/SC Long Acting Formulation (Fluphenazine enanthate, Fluphenazine decanoate)
- Stabilize on oral dose before initiating depot dose
- Start 12.5 to 25 mg IM or SQ every 4 to 6 weeks (equivalent to 10 to 20 mg/day of oral dose)
