- Not recommended (low efficacy and a very long course)
III. Mechanism
- Broad-spectrum Antifungal activity
- Antifungal for dermatophytes and yeast
- Some antibacterial activity in vitro
IV. Medications
- Cutaneous dermatophytes
- Ciclopirox Shampoo 1% (Loprox)
- Ciclopirox Lotion, Cream or Gel: 0.77%

- Ciclopirox 8% lacquer (Penlac)
V. Dosing: Adults and Age >12 years old
- Dermatophyte Infection (Tinea Corporis, Tinea Pedis, Tinea Cruris, Tinea Versicolor) and Cutaneous Candidiasis
- Apply twice daily

Onychomycosis (not recommended; low efficacy and a very long course)
- Apply daily to affected nails (over the top of prior application)
- Remove with Alcohol every 7 days
- Requires 48 week application
- Seborrheic Dermatitis
