- Superficial dermatophyte infections (e.g. Tinea Pedis, Tinea Cruris, Tinea Corporis and Tinea Versicolor)
III. Mechanism
- Imidazole Antifungal
- As with other azoles, inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol (key component of fungal cell wall)
- Blocks sterol 14-a-dimethylase (microsomal Cytochrome P450-dependent enzyme)
IV. Medications
- Cream: 1%
- Lotion: 1%
V. Dosing: Superficial dermatophyte infections (e.g. Tinea Pedis, Tinea Cruris, Tinea Corporis and Tinea Versicolor)
- Apply once to twice daily (once daily in Tinea Versicolor)
VI. Safety
- Pregnancy Category B
- Unknown safety in Lactation
