IV. Preparations
- Cream 0.05%, 0.1%
- Gel 0.05%, 0.1%
V. Dosing
- Applied each day
- Quick onset of benefit
- Start at 0.05% gel, may advance to 0.1% gel
VI. Efficacy
- Under 50% have moderate to marked benefit
- Best used in combination with topicals
- Benefit may last for several weeks after stopping
VII. Adverse Effects
- Local irritation is common
- Erythema in almost everyone
- Peeling and dryness
- Pruritus, stinging and burning
- Not tolerated by 10% of patients
- Risk of Koebner Reaction
- Results in larger area Psoriasis
- Apply strictly to lesion
