II. Exam: Optical Reflex (Orbicularis Oculi Reflex)

  1. Technique
    1. Expose eye to bright light
  2. Expected response (normal)
    1. Results in Eyelid closure in the exposed eye as well as the other eye (consensual response)
    2. Slower response than the Corneal Reflex
    3. Absent in age under 9 months
  3. Mechanism
    1. Mediated by visual cortex in Occipital Lobe
