III. Signs: Limited knee flexion (Assess at 12 to 24 hour)

  1. Mild Injury
    1. Knee flexion >90 degrees
  2. Moderate Contusion
    1. Knee flexion 45-90 degrees
  3. Severe Contusion
    1. Knee flexion <45 degrees

IV. Management

  1. Phase 1: Wrap knee, extended to 130 degrees
  2. Phase 2: Restore Range of Motion
  3. Phase 3: Return to Play
