Pelvis is similar to a three ringed pretzel
- Large central pelvic inlet
- Two small, inferior obturator canals (between the rami)

Pelvis has 3 joints
- Two, posterior sacroiliac joints to either side of the Sacrum
- One anterior, central Pubic Symphysis
III. Anatomy: Bones
- Pelvic Bone (composed of 3 bony parts)
- Ilium
- Large, superior aspect of the Pelvic Bone down to, but not including the rami
- Articulates with the Sacrum and the sacroiliac joint
- Includes the superior aspect of the acetabulum
- Pubis
- Superior ramus and medial to Pubic Symphysis
- Includes the anterior aspect of the acetabulum
- Ischium
- Posterior and inferior ramus
- Includes the posterior aspect of the acetabulum
- Ilium

Sacrum
- Five fused Vertebrae ending in the Coccyx
- Contiguous with the Lumbar Spine to its superior
- Forms the posterior aspect of the pelvic ring
- Joined to a Pelvic Bone on either side via the Pubic Symphysis
