III. Prevention: Liver Disease Progression
- Abstain completely from Alcohol
- Vaccination
- Avoid Hepatotoxic Medications
- Acetaminophen <2 grams/day appears to be safe
- Statins appear to be safe
- Avoid frequent NSAIDs or Aspirin (bleeding risk)
- Antibiotics
- Avoid Augmentin
- Fluoroquinolone and Cephalosporins are safe
- Avoid iron Supplements except in Iron Deficiency Anemia
- Reduces risk of Secondary Hemochromatosis
