IV. Differential Diagnosis

  1. Apparent Flatfoot in infants and toddlers under age 2
    1. Due to fat pad in area of longitudinal arch
    2. Fat pad atrophies with weight bearing

V. Types

  1. Flexible Flatfoot or Physiologic Flatfoot (Tight heel cord)
  2. Rigid Flatfoot or pathologic Flatfoot (Hindfoot Arthritis)
  3. Traumatic Flatfoot (Ruptured posterior tibial tendon)
