II. Risk Factors
- History of prior Concussion (risk of Second Impact Syndrome)
- Age younger than 18 years old
- Medical comorbidities
- Medications (psychotropics or Anticoagulants)
- High risk sport (e.g. collision or Contact Sport or dangerous athletic play)
- Symptom related (see Concussion Symptom Checklist)
- More than three Concussion symptoms at presentation
- Specific symptoms such as Fatigue or fogginess
- Headache lasting more than 60 hours
- Loss of consciousness >60 seconds
- Amnesia
III. Complications: Repeated Concussion
- Second Impact Syndrome
- Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy
- Progressive degenerative changes due to repeated Traumatic Brain Injury
- May demonstrate features similar to alzheimer's Dementia

Dementia Pugilistica (Punch Drunk Syndrome)
- Subset of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy
- Dementia with parkinsonian Movement Disorder
IV. Management

- Consider referral to neurologist or other specialist knowledgeable in Concussion
- Consider formal Neuropsychological Testing
- Consider neurorehabilitation Consultation
