- Orbital rim tenderness to palpation
- Nasal complex flattening
- Traumatic Telecanthus (increased distance between medial canthus of each eye)
V. Exam: Red Flags
- Globe Rupture
- Facial Fracture
- Decreased Extraocular Movements (extraocular Muscle entrapment)
- Enophthalmos (posteriorly displaced eye)
VI. Imaging
- Orbital CT (with thin sections)
VII. Management
- Emergently consult Otolaryngology or Maxillofacial Surgery
- Ophthalmology Consultation if eye involvement
- Nasal Decongestants (e.g. Oxymetazoline, neosynephrine)
- Antibiotics if communication between orbit and sinuses
- Patient should not blow their nose, and try not to sneeze
- Surgery indications
- Extraocular Muscle entrapment with decreased Extraocular Movements
- Enophthalmos (posteriorly displaced eye)
