II. Pathophysiology
- Subchondral bone undergoes avascular necrosis
- Articular cartilage separates from adjacent bone (and its blood supply)
- Cartilage may extrude into joint to form loose body
- Osteochondritis Dissecans most commonly occurs in the knee
- May also be seen in the elbow, ankle, and hip
