- Stage 0: Noninvasive Breast Cancer
- Ductal Carcinoma In Situ or DCIS (Tis, N0, M0)
- Microcalcifications limited to Breast ducts
- Progresses to invasive Breast Cancer in 40% if not treated
- Ductal Carcinoma In Situ or DCIS (Tis, N0, M0)
- Stage 1: Tumor <=2 cm or small positive Lymph Nodes (Early Invasive Breast Cancer)
- Stage 1A
- Small, but invasive with no spread to Lymph Nodes (T1, NO, M0)
- Stage 1B
- Lymph Node spread (<2 mm) and tumor <2 cm (T0-1, N1, M0)
- Stage 1A
- Stage 2: Tumor >2 cm or positive Lymph Nodes (Early Invasive Breast Cancer)
- Stage 2A
- No tumor, spread to 1-3 axillary Lymph Nodes, but no distant metastases (T0 N1 M0) OR
- Tumor <2 cm with spread to 1-3 axillary nodes (T1 N1 M0) OR
- Tumor 2-5 cm, without axillary Lymph Node involvement (T2 N0 M0)
- Stage 2B
- Tumor 2-5 cm, with spread to 1-3 axillary nodes (T2 N1 M0) OR
- Tumor >5 cm, without axillary Lymph Node involvement (T3 N0 M0)
- Stage 2A
- Stage 3: Tumor Involving Skin or Chest Wall (Locally Advanced Breast Cancer)
- Stage 3A
- Cancer has spread to 4-9 axillary Lymph Nodes or internal mammary nodes (T0-3, N2, M0)
- Stage 3B
- Cancer spread to chest wall, Breast ulceration or swelling or inflammatory (T4, N0-2, M0)
- Stage 3C
- Cancer has spread to >9 axillary Lymph Nodes or internal mammary, subclavicular nodes (T0-4, N3, M0)
- Stage 3A
- Stage 4: Metastatic Breast Cancer
- Recurrent
- Recurrence described as local, regional or distant
