- Maternal Hormones are present in males and females following delivery and for the first few months
- Effects of maternal Hormones
- Vaginal Bleeding
- Occurs in up to 3% of girls peaking by day 5 and resolving within 1 week
- Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding should prompt Coagulopathy evaluation
- Breast buds
- Form within first week of life in both male and female newborns
- Persists for >1 month in 25% of females and 5% of males
- Asymmetry of up to a 1 cm difference is normal
- Milky discharge may occur
- Distinguish from Breast Abscess
- Vaginal Bleeding
