II. Types: Hodgkin's Lymphoma
- Incidence mildly increased in HIV
- Course may be more aggressive in HIV
- May have less complete response to Chemotherapy
III. Types: Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma
- Occurs when median CD4=200 cells
- Rapid tumor growth with extranodal disease
- Non-lymphatic sites: Lung, GI, Bone Marrow, Meninges
- Usually widespread (stage 4) at time of diagnosis
- Poor prognosis in patients with advanced HIV
- Median duration of survival is 3-6 months
- Associated with EBV viral gene sequence (40%)
IV. Types: Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma - Primary CNS
- Occurs in advanced AIDS (CD4 Count<50 cells)
- Highly Associated with EBV viral gene sequence
- Space occupying unifocal intracranial lesion
- May be confused with CNS Toxoplasmosis
- Survival without treatment is 3 months
- Response to treatment in 50% of cases
