II. Indications
- Assess Adults with Atrial Fibrillation for risk of bleeding while on Anticoagulation
III. Criteria
- Score 1: Age >74 years old
- Score 1: Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) <60 ml/min/1.73m2
- Score 1: Antiplatelet use
- Score 2: Major bleeding history (e.g. Gastrointestinal Bleeding or Intracranial Bleeding)
- Score 2: Low Hemoglobin
- Female <12 g/dl or Hematocrit <36%
- Male <13 g/dl or Hematocrit <40%
IV. Interpretation
- Total Score 0 to 2: Low Risk (2.4 bleeding events per 100 patient years)
- Total Score 3: Moderate Risk (4.7 bleeding events per 100 patient years)
- Total Score >=4: High Risk (8.1 bleeding events per 100 patient years)
