- Respiratory Rate >22 breaths/min
- Systolic Blood Pressure <100 mmHg
- Altered Mental Status
IV. Interpretation
- qSOFA Score 2 consistent wth Sepsis (if infectious source)
- qSOFA Score <2 is associated with a mortality of 3%, compared with 24% mortality for score of 2-3
- Prediction of in-hospital mortality
- Test Sensitivity: 70%
- Test Specificity: 80%
V. Precautions
- qSOFA Score alone has inadequate Test Sensitivity in Sepsis
- Positive qSOFA Score should prompt aggressive Resuscitation for Sepsis
- Negative qSOFA Score and a suspicion for Sepsis, should prompt complete SOFA Score calculation
