II. Background
- TNM staging replaces ABCD\Whitmore Prostate Staging
III. Classification: Primary Tumor (T)
- Stage T1: Not palpable
- Stage T2: Palpable, but limited to Prostate
- Stage T3: Local spread beyond the Prostate capsule
- Stage T3a: Tumor spread through the capsule
- Stage T3b: Tumor invasion of either Seminal Vessicle
- Stage T4
- Regional spread
IV. Classification: Regional Lymph Nodes (N)
- Stage N0: No spread to regional Lymph Nodes
- Stage N1: Spread to regional luymph nodes
V. Classification: Distant Metastases (M)
- Stage M0: No distant metastasis
- Stage M1: Distant metastasis
- Stage M1a: Spread to Lymph Nodes outside the regional nodes
- Stage M1b: Spread to bone
- Stage M1c: Spread to non-bony tissue (with or without bone involvement)
VI. Classification: Whitmore Staging (replaced by above TNM Staging)
- Stage A
- Stage A1: Single impalpable lesion (<5% of gland)
- Stage A2: Impalpable microscopic lesion (>5% of gland)
- Stage B
- Stage C
- Stage C1: Localized disease extending beyond gland
- Stage C2: Localized disease includes Seminal Vessicles
- Stage D
- Stage D1: Pelvic Lymph Node involvement
- Stage D2: Bone metastases or distant spread
