II. Grading: Gleason Grade
- Score
- Grade dominant Prostate tumor on scale 1 to 5
- Grade other histologic patterns on scale 1 to 5
- Sum 2 grades for total score of 2 to 10 for tumor
- Interpretation: Prostate Cancer histology
- Grade 2 suggests highly differentiated tumor (best)
- Grade 10 suggests undifferentiated tumor (worst)
III. Grading: Grade Group (GG)
- Score
- Grade Group 1: Equivalent to Gleason Score of 6 (3+3)
- Grade Group 2: Equivalent to Gleason Score of 7 (3+4)
- Grade Group 3: Equivalent to Gleason Score of 7 (4+3)
- Grade Group 4: Equivalent to Gleason Score of 8 (4+4)
- Grade Group 5: Equivalent to Gleason Score of 9 or 10 (4+5 or 5+5)
- Interpretation
- GG1 lesions are associated with very low mortality
- Most Prostate Cancer Management is focused on GG2 and higher
