II. Indications
- Suspected Ovarian Malignancy (e.g. Adnexal Mass)
III. Criteria: Ultrasound (assign 1 point if 1 characteristic, 2 points if >1 characteristic)
- Bilateral lesions
- Findings consistent with metastases
- Solid areas
- Multilocular cyst
- Ascites
IV. Criteria: Menopausal Status
- Premenopausal: 1 point
- Postmenopausal: 3 points
V. Criteria: Serum CA-125 Level
- Use actual level in U/ml in calculation
VI. Calculation
- RMI = U * M * C
- Where U is Ultrasound criteria, M is menopausal status, and C is CA-125 level
VII. Interpretation
- RMI >200 is associated with a higher Ovarian Cancer risk
- RMI Threshold may vary by ethnicity and race
VIII. Efficacy
- Test Sensitivity: 79%
- Test Specificity: 92%
IX. Resources
- Risk of Malignancy Index (MDCalc)
