II. Indications
- Testicular Cancer screening by young men under age 34
III. Frequency of exam
- Patient or their partner performs self-exam monthly
- Consider performing exam during warm shower or bath
IV. Technique
- Cup Scrotum with one hand and note any changes
- Check each Testicle one at a time
- Examine epididymis (next to Testicle)
- Epididymis should be soft and mobile
- Testicle may be mildly tender
- Examine vas deferens (spermatic cord)
- Vas deferens is contiguous with epididymis
- Vas deferens should be smooth and mobile
V. Interpretation
- Patient pursues medical care for any abnormal findings
