Definition (UMD)
|
Gas lasers with carbon dioxide as the active medium. Their emission wavelength is 10,600 nm (far infrared). These lasers are operated in continuous-wave and pulsed modes. The laser energy can be delivered to the tissue through a handpiece or through a rigid non-fiber-optic endoscope or adapted to an operating microscope.
