Shuck Test

Aka: Shuck Test
  1. Indications
    1. Wrist Injury
    2. Suspected perilunate instability
    3. Suspected Triangular Fibrocartilage Tear
  2. Maneuver: Perilunate Instability
    1. Examiner holds wrist in flexion
    2. Patient extends fingers against resistance
  3. Maneuver: TFCC Instability
    1. Examiner stabilizes radial aspect of the wrist with one hand
    2. Examiner applies anteroposterior stress to the ulnar side of the wrist with other hand
  4. Interpretation
    1. Excessive motion suggests instability
