- Indications
- Exclusively Breast fed infants
- Inadequate sunlight exposure
- Northern latitudes
- Dark skin
- Sunlight exposure
- Wearing only a diaper for 30 minutes per week
- Fully clothed with no hat for two hours per week
- Supplement 400 IU/day

Vitamin K
- Prevents Hemorrhagic Disease of the Newborn
- Single 0.5 to 1 mg IM at birth

Iron
- Iron-fortified foods needed by 6 months of age

Vitamin B12
- Supplementation if strictly Vegetarian mother
- Supplement: 0.3 to 0.5 mcg/day
