II. Indications

Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex Injury (TFCC Injury)
- Refractory, inflammatory pain at TFCC
III. Preparation
- Syringe 3 ml
- Needle 25 to 27 gauge (1.25 to 1.5 inch)
- Methylprednisolone 20 mg (0.5 ml of 40 mg/ml solution)
- Lidocaine 1% 0.5 ml
IV. Technique
- Patient sits with Forearm pronated and resting against a table top or pillow
- Prepare skin with antiseptic (e.g. Chlorhexidine, Povidone-Iodine)
- High Frequency Ultrasound Linear probe
- Placed overlying the dorsal wrist, in transverse axis (horizontal, in line with wrist joint)
- Insert needle in-plane with Ultrasound into the ulnar wrist directed toward radial wrist
- Injection is deep to extensor carpi ulnaris tendon
