II. Management: Displaced Contact Lens
- Reassurance that lens will not travel retrobulbar
- Find the lens
- Have patient look up or down as lids are held
- Move off Cornea to Sclera
- Remove the lens with irrigation or with plunger
- Replace the lens on the Cornea
- Fluorescein will stain lens permanently but may ease finding it
III. Complications: Infection

- Overnight Contact Lens wear (20 fold increased risk)
- Tap water used to rinse Contact Lenses
- Water exposure while wearing Contact Lenses (swimming, showering, hot tub)
- Infectious Keratitis Causes
- Acanthamoeba
- Pseudomonas (esp. soft cosmetic contacts)
- Mixed Bacteria
- Fungal infections
- Herpes Simplex Virus
- Management
- Treat Contact Lens induced Bacterial Conjunctivitis or Keratitis with topical Fluoroquinolone or Aminoglycoside
