II. Technique
- Infants and toddlers under age 2 years old
- Plot weight, length and Head Circumference
- Growth is initially impacted by Intrauterine environment and catch up growth (6 to 18 months)
- By age 2 years, children reach their genetically programmed growth percentile (based on mid-parental height)
- WHO growth charts are preferred over CDC for this age group (see below)
- Ages 2 to 20 years old
- Plot weight, height and Body Mass Index
- CDC growth charts are preferred in U.S. for age >= 2 years
III. Evaluation: Linear Growth
- Measurements
- Height Measurement in Children
- Calculation of Growth Delay
- Linear Growth Velocity (requires at least 2 points, at least 3-6 months apart)
- Arm Span
- Sitting Height
- Upper to Lower Segment Ratio
- Abnormalities
IV. Evaluation: Weight
