- Multiple Sclerosis related ambulatory dysfunction
III. Contraindications
- Seizure Disorder
- Renal Dysfunction (increases Dalfampridine drug levels)
- Dalfampridine is contraindicated with GFR <50 ml/min
- Seizure risk increased for GFR 50 to 80 ml/min
IV. Mechanism
- Primarily a Potassium Channel Blocker
- Also blocks Calcium channels
- May improve ambulation in Multiple Sclerosis
V. Medications
- Dalfampridine XR 10 mg tablets
VI. Dosing
- Adults: Dalfampridine XR 10 mg orally twice daily
VII. Adverse Effects

Seizures
- Increased risk with renal dysfunction (GFR 50 to 80 ml/min)

- Pregnancy Category C
- Unknown safety in Lactation
