- Rest and elevate the affected hand (reduces edema)
- Apply warm compresses to the affected hand (increases local blood flow and antibiotic delivery)
- Splint in a position of function (decreases risk of flexion contractures)

- Start with first generation Cephalosporin
- Add Aminoglycoside for contaminated wounds
