- Use DTaP Vaccine instead for children under age 7 years
- Use Tdap Vaccine instead for teens over age 11 and adults under age 65 years old
- Dose
- Adult 0.5 ml IM
- Interval
- Low risk patients: every 8-10 years
- Following contaminated wound if >5 years from prior Vaccine
- Risk of repeat exposure: every 5 years
- Warming Vaccine in hands does not reduce pain
