II. Definitions
- Plasmacytoma
- Discrete, localized mass of neoplastic monoclonal plasma cells
- Mass may be found within Bone Marrow or extramedullary
- Other than being localized to a single mass, Plasmacytoma cells are Identical to those in plasma cell Myelomas
- Plasmacytomas may also progress to Multiple Myeloma
III. Diagnosis: Solitary Plasmacytoma (IMWG 2024, all 4 criteria must be met)
- Biopsy-proven solitary bone or soft tissue lesion containing clonal plasma cells AND
- Normal Bone Marrow without evidence of clonal plasma cells AND
- Normal imaging other than primary Plasmacytoma (Skeletal Survey, MRI, CT) AND
- Absent end organ injury attributed to lymphoplasma cell proliferative disorder (CRAB Factors)
- Hypercalcemia absent
- Renal Insufficiency absent
- Anemia absent
- Bone lesions absent
IV. Diagnosis: Solitary Plasmacytoma with minimal marrow involvement (IMWG 2024, all 4 criteria must be met)
- Biopsy-proven solitary bone or soft tissue lesion containing clonal plasma cells AND
- Clonal Bone Marrow plasma cells <10% AND
- Normal imaging other than primary Plasmacytoma (Skeletal Survey, MRI, CT) AND
- Absent end organ injury attributed to lymphoplasma cell proliferative disorder (CRAB Factors)
- Hypercalcemia absent
- Renal Insufficiency absent
- Anemia absent
- Bone lesions absent
