  • Pathophysiology
  1. Separation of right and left rectus muscles
  2. Fascia stretches with Obesity or pregnancy
  3. Not a true Abdominal Hernia
    1. No fascial defect
    2. No risk of Incarcerated Hernia or Strangulated Hernia
  • Signs
  1. Exam in supine position with head raised (increasing intraabdominal pressure)
  2. Diffuse, elongated midline bulge between the two contracted rectus muscles
