Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography

Aka: Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography, ERCP
  1. Indications
    1. Common Duct Stone
  2. Contraindications
    1. Diagnostic ERCP (too high risk for diagnostic purposes only)
      1. Replaced by MRCP, endoscopic Ultrasound
  3. Complications: Occur in 4-10% of cases
    1. Acute Pancreatitis (highest risk, reduced with pancreatic stenting)
    2. Hemorrhage
    3. Perforation
    4. Ascending Cholangitis
    5. Cholecystitis
