- Score 0.5: Acute Onset symptoms with peak on Day 1
- Score 1.0: Joint Erythema
- Score 1.5: Hypertension or cardiovascular disease
- Score 2.0: Male gender
- Score 2.0: Prior episode of Arthritis or Joint Pain
- Score 2.5: First metatarsophalangeal joint (MCP joint) involvement
- Score 3.5: Serum Uric Acid >5.8 mg/dl (0.35 mmol/L)
- Interpretation: Based on Total Score from Criteria (0 to 13 points possible)
- High Risk (Total >= 8)
- Consistent with Gouty Arthritis diagnosis
- Intermediate Risk (Total 4.5 to 7.5)
- Seek additional clinical data (e.g. Joint Aspiration and polarized light microscopy)
- Low Risk (Total <= 4)
- Consider alternative diagnosis
