    1. Strong Serotonin and Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor
    2. Also with minor Dopamine reuptake inhibitor properties
  5. Preparations
    1. Duloxetine Hydrochloride delayed release tablets (20g, 30 mg, 60 mg)
  6. Dosing
    1. Start: 20 mg twice daily or 30 mg daily
    2. Advance to 60 mg daily (or divided twice daily)
  7. Drug Interactions
    1. Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAO inhibitor)
      1. Do not use Duloxetine concurrently or within 14 days of last dose of MAO inhibitors
    2. Linezolid
    3. Methylene Blue

    1. Pregnancy Category: C
    2. Black box warning as for all Antidepressants for Suicidality in teens

Definition (NCI_NCI-GLOSS) A drug used to treat depression and peripheral neuropathy (pain, numbness, tingling, burning, or weakness in the hands or feet) that can occur with diabetes. It is also being studied in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy caused by certain anticancer drugs. Cymbalta increases the amount of certain chemicals in the brain that help relieve depression and pain. It is a type of serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.
