    1. Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip evaluation (identifies femur length discrepancy)
  3. Mechanism
    1. Compare the 2 femur lengths
  4. Preparation: Sit-up starting position
    1. Infant or child supine
    2. Hips and knees flexed with feet flat on examining table
  5. Technique
    1. Observe for inequality of knee height
    2. Affected side will be lower than the normal side
  6. Findings
    1. False Negatives
      1. Bilateral hip disclocation (20% of cases)
    2. Inequality causes
      1. Congenital Hip Dislocation
      2. Femoral shortening
