- Cerebellar Testing of Diadochokinesia (Rapid Alternating Movements)
- Technique: Rapid Forearm rotation
- Patient rests the dorsum of one hand against their thigh or other hand
- Patient flips their hand over, palm side up
- Patient repeats hand flipping as quickly as they can (generating a slap sound with each flip)
- Technique: Alternative
- Tap each finger tip against the thumb of the same hand
- Move from one finger to the next, each tapping the pad of the thumb
- Interpretation
- Abnormal testing (Dysdiadochokinesia) suggests cerebellar or coordination dysfunction
