- Criteria
- Age =60 (1 point)
- Blood Pressure =140/90 at presentation (1 point)
- Clinical features
- Unilateral Focal weakness (2 points)
- Speech Impairment without focal weakness (1 point)
- Diabetes Mellitus (1 point)
- Duration of symptoms
- Duration =60 minutes (2 points)
- Duration 10-59 minutes (1 point)
- Duration <10 minutes (0 points)
- Interpretation: Risk of CVA within 2 days following Transient Ischemic Attack
- Points 0-3: Risk of CVA 1.0% within subsequent 2 days of TIA
- Points 4-5: Risk of CVA 4.1% within subsequent 2 days of TIA
- Points 6-7: Risk of CVA 8.1% within subsequent 2 days of TIA
