- Indications
- Precocious Puberty (suspect pathologic central cause)
- Delayed Puberty (suspect hormonal cause)
- Technique
- Patient fasts overnight
- Administer 100 ug GnRH IV or SC
- Obtain Serum Gonadotropin Levels
- Labs
- Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
- Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
- Timing
- Baseline prior to GnRH administration
- After injection at 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes
- Interpretation
- Central Precocious Puberty
- Two fold or higher increase in FSH and LH
