- Naphthalenemethylamine derivative (similar to Terbinafine)
- Indications
- Refractory cutaneous Tinea Infections (e.g. Tinea Pedis, Tinea Cruris)
- Dosing
- Apply once daily for 14 days to a 2 cm area surrounding Skin Infection
- Note: Unlike other Topical Antifungals, once daily application is sufficient
- Advantages
- Shorter course (2 instead of 4 weeks) than Clotrimazole
- More convenient (once daily) than other Topical Antifungals
- Disadvantages
- Expensive
- Efficacy
- High tinea cure rates with a 2 week course
- At 4-8 weeks, no significant difference in cure as compared with Clotrimazole
