II. Pathophysiology

  1. Separation of right and left rectus Muscles
  2. Fascia stretches with Obesity or pregnancy
  3. Not a true Abdominal Hernia
    1. No fascial defect
    2. No risk of Incarcerated Hernia or Strangulated Hernia

III. Signs

  1. Exam in supine position with head raised (increasing intraabdominal pressure)
  2. Diffuse, elongated midline bulge between the two contracted rectus Muscles
